Learning Environment:
Theoretical facilitation to be delivered in a U-type sitting Arrangement. Simulation scenarios are to be organized by shifting ranks/roles assumed by all attendees.
Goal:
Attendees will comprehend basic and practical aspects of ship handling, ability to respond to emergencies
Objectives:
- Refreshment of basic principles and elements of ship handling.
- Wind and current effects on a vessel.
- Stopping the vessel.
- Bank and canal effects, shallow water.
- Ship-to-ship interactions.
- Use of thrusters, rudders and tugs.
- Anchoring.
- Berthing.
- Unberthing.
- Handling Emergencies.
